What You Will Do
- Independently design, build, and evolve robust data models that drive reporting, business intelligence, and application-facing data layers.
- Architect and maintain dimensional models using Kimball methodology, focusing on fact and dimension tables, slowly changing dimensions, and schema design.
- Build and manage ELT pipelines utilizing dbt and SQL frameworks, ensuring models are modular, well-tested, and production-ready.
- Optimize query performance and cost efficiency across large-scale data models, proactively identifying and resolving bottlenecks.
- Collaborate with analysts, data scientists, and product engineers to translate complex requirements into effective data solutions.
Ideal Candidate Background
- 8+ years of hands-on experience in analytics engineering or data engineering, with a proven track record of owning complex data systems from design to production.
- Expert-level proficiency in SQL, with a deep understanding of complex transformations, CTEs, window functions, and query performance tuning.
- Strong experience in Kimball dimensional modeling, including designing fact/dimension table structures and handling SCDs.
Preferred
- Hands-on experience with ELT/dbt projects in a production environment.
- Systems-level architectural thinking, with a focus on maintainability and long-term scalability.
